Rick Newell, Founder and Board President
Rick Newell had a good career in technology working at companies like Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Cingular. Rick, however, felt he wanted to try something different. Instead, he went to work at the Rotary Boys & Girls Club in the Central District of Seattle. Newell applied the same work ethic he gave in the corporate world to the kids at the club. The result was the youth he mentored won 9 national awards from a pool of a 2 million kids over a 7 year period. From his years at the Boys & Girls Club Newell came to firmly believe that the need of the hour in the urban core is positive male role models. Rick is happily married to his wife, Rebecca, and loves being a dad to his three boys.
Lois Newell, Treasurer

Lois Newell, Shoreline Washington. Served on the Board for The New Horizons Foundation in Colorado Springs and also on the Board of The Navigators. Has managed the business end of her husband’s Podiatric Medical Practice in Seattle, WA for nearly 45 years.
Maggie Montgomery, Secretary
By day, Maggie is a consultant at Microsoft and has worked in the web publishing world for 20 years. She’s passionate about sports and works game days in various roles for the Seattle Seahawks, Sounders and Storm. Most recently, she joined the FCA Seattle advisory board, with the hope of further impacting the lives of young people.
Scott Anderberg, Board Member
Director of Global OPM Growth and Scale, Pearson
Scott Anderberg has spent the last 15 years working in the Higher Education industry focused on helping post secondary institutions increase the quality and access of their education programs. His work has taken him to every continent except Antarctica. He and his family have recently returned from three and a half years in Australia where he worked closely with several leading universities in the delivery and management of their post-graduate online program offerings. He lives in Colorado where he skis, works, and schemes about how to one day make it to Antarctica in spite of the low demand from penguins for online education.
Casey Bui, Board Member
Managing Broker, Windermere Real Estate
Casey Bui has a long record of community support throughout the greater Puget Sound region. He has served in a variety of capacities throughout the area for local nonprofits and government agencies. Casey is currently the co-President of the Board of Trustees for the Wing Luke Asian Museum in Seattle’s International District, including the period during their $23 million capital expansion and is a founding board member of the Washington Vietnamese Americans Chamber of Commerce. He previously served on the city of Renton’s Planning Commission as well as the Human Services Advisory Committee. He is a Managing Broker at Windermere Real Estate.
Mark Canlis, Board Member
Owner, Canlis Restaurant
Mark grew up working in restaurants and, upon graduating from Cornell University, served as a Captain in Air Force Special Operations. He met his wife, Anne Marie, while living in Manhattan and working with famed restaurateur Danny Meyer. Mark and his brother now preside over the family restaurant in Seattle. Under their leadership, Canlis has repeatedly been named one of the top restaurants in America.
Jerrell Davis, Board Member
Servant Leader Coach, Rainier Beach Action Coalition
Jerrell Davis is a lifelong South Seattle resident, poet, activist, and Educator. With a passion for investing in young people he is currently working at Rainier Beach HS as a Servant Leader Coach and as an independent contractor with the Rainier Beach Action Coalition. He is 23, loves hip-hop and basketball, and has a degree in Sociology and Business Economics from Seattle Pacific University.
Jimmy Hung, Board Member
Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
Jimmy Hung is a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office located in Seattle, Washington. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 1999 and joined the King County Prosecutor’s Office that year. During his time in the office he has worked on all levels of felony and misdemeanor trial practice including homicide, sexual assault, and domestic violence. He served as the 2nd Chair of the Domestic Violence Unit for 5 years and currently is the Chair of the Juvenile Unit supervising deputy prosecutors, victim advocates, and staff at the Youth Services Center in Seattle, Washington. Jimmy has previously served on the Board of the Asian Bar Association of Washington and currently serves on the WSBA Criminal Law Section Executive Committee where he was once Chair. Jimmy also serves as a board member of the Community Leaders Roundtable of Seattle (CLRS).
Lynnea Paddock, Board Member

Lynnea’s engineering career has taken her through the Aerospace industry, developing consumer products in the Netherlands and most recently within the Research and Development group of Starbucks. When she is not working on the next consumer innovation she enjoys spending time with her husband, designing/making jewelry and exploring the beautiful PNW.
